System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows XP/Vista/7
  • Web Browser: Internet Explorer 7 (or later) - or - Mozilla Firefox 2 (or later)
  • Recommended Screen Resolution:At Least 1024 x 768 pixels (bigger the better)
  • Hardware: We do not have specific requirements for RAM, CPU or graphics cards. We strive to optimize our applications so that they will run on low and high end machines. Please contact us if 3D graphics performance is a problem.

Required Software Installation

Dragster 2.0 and Structures 2.0 are web-based. However, it is necessary to download and install a free plug-in on each student machine to display 3D graphics. This is a very quick and simple installation; however if you do not have administrative rights in your classroom, you will need assistance. So plan ahead!

If you see a spinning car in a blue window to the right of the following instructions, Unity is already installed properly on this machine!

Unity Installation Instructions

  1. Download the unity web player from the Unity3D website.
  2. Save the file to your computer in a convienent location such as your desktop.
  3. Run the downloaded program to start the installer.
  4. If your computer asks for permission to make changes, click Yes.
  5. When the installation completes, you may need to close and re-open your web browser.


Recommended Software Installation

The Teacher Control Center (TCC) is entirely web-based. However, if you would like to enter student names in the TCC (to easily track student IDs) you can install Google Gears. This process if optional, but recommended. Google Gears is free and is only required on the teacher's computer.

Security Matters

If you are using the Internet Explorer web browser, we recommend that you add www.whiteboxlearning.com to your Trusted Sites.

Adding WhiteBox To Your Trusted Sites (IE only)

  1. In Internet Explorer, select Tools.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Select the Security tab.
  4. Select the Trusted Sites zone.
  5. Select the Sites button and add www.whiteboxlearning.com.
